Ya’ll Motherfuckers Need Acid, Part 1

This post isn’t for the public, but it is public. This is for friends or friends of friends who are interested in psychedelics but are unsure if they should or are unsure how to get started. I will address both of those concerns. If you or if someone you know is curious about psychedelics and wants answers to basic questions, then this post and follow-up posts are for you or your friend. If not, I will probably bore you.

My “experience”

First, I’ll establish my credentials such as they are. I did mushrooms and acid as a teenager. In my twenties and thirties, they became a hobby. Specifically LSD became a hobby actually, because acid is easier to dose and do “heroic doses” precisely. At one point I followed a regiment of weekly trips so I could build up to taking 1,000 micrograms — 1000µg or 1mg — of LSD. I went all the way to 3000µg but stopped because it’s all the same after about 1500µg in my experience.

I only tell you this to establish my qualifications. I have tripped. I have done more than microdose (I will talk about microdosing later). But why do it? Why should anyone do any psychedelics at all?

First, again, is more clarity. I will focus this post and future posts on how to prepare for and take LSD (street name acid), not psylicibin (shrooms) or DMT (ayahuasca). I’ve never done DMT and I’m not super interested in going out of my way to try it. Honestly, the difference between psylicibin and LSD is so slight that I don’t see how DMT could be much different. Based on the experiences I’ve heard and read, it isn’t. By all means, if you can get your hands on some DMT, then try it out. Better yet, share with me! Until then, let me be clear: my experience is with LSD. I will call it acid.

Why acid?

Well, if you’re in the US, it’s the psychonaut’s choice for a number of reasons. First, it’s cheap. It comes in dried little pieces of paper that were mass produced and precisely measured out by a chemist. This means that middlemen don’t water it down. It also means that you can precisely measure the strength of your trip. In short, it’s reliable. It’s powerful, too; so powerful, it’s measure in micrograms. You can reliably get a solid, pure dose of LSD for 10 or 20 bucks if you know where to look. And best of all, it’s not grown in some dude’s closet. How’s all that for a sales pitch?

So, where do you look? I can’t tell you exactly. Disappointing answer, I know. The truth is that sources are ever-changing. I can only say that if you want to find acid, you’ll either need to ask a friend who you think can help or learn to use the dark web. If you’re my friend and you ask me, I will tell you to use the dark web. I don’t have any.

Why am I here?

A cool guy once said, “but don’t take my word for it”. And that guy was literally on a show about a reading rainbow. He knew what he was talking about.

Seriously though, I’m a humble medic and engineer, not a doctor. Don’t take my word for anything. I am writing these posts to share my experiences with you, and to tell you do not need to wait for our fucked up medical system to get out of the way of you healing your mind. The hype is real. Psychedelics can help you deal with an array of mental and emotional problems.

Simultaneously, I want to share how to do it the way I did, alone and unsupervised. You don’t need to do it this way, but that is the way I know, and it’s the most dangerous way. I want to help you stay safe, avoid my mistakes, and find the joy in it.

So if you are still reading, great! Stay tuned for part two, where we can get started with a microdose. I’ll explain classic pitfalls, misconceptions, as well as how you can take it, what you can expect from it, and how to build from there.
